Part of the aim of the program is to teach the children self-sufficiency. The unemployment rate in South Africa is 27%, and poverty is a real problem.
To meet the double challenges of feeding the children and teaching them to be self- sufficient, we used our farm as a project. We planted beans and corn with the participation of the children.
Hopefully, some may become entrepreneurs, supporting themselves and their families, and creating jobs instead of seeking jobs.
The aim is to make this program as self-sufficient as possible. One way of doing that is to offer interested people the opportunity of a volunteer vacation.
